I purchased a 5.5 Blackhawk in 45 Colt about 2 1/2 months ago. I have 2 regrets. One is that I didn''t do it sooner. This gun is built like a tank & is more accurate than I am. Last week, my first round of my reloads hit the bullseye dead center. I shoot freehand ]no sand bags, rests etc[. Both my nephew & couldn''t believe it. I immediately replaced target & took the first target home!
My 2nd regret is that I wish I would''ve gotten the convertible 45Colt/45ACP. I love the model I have ]45 Colt[, but having a convertible would''ve been just that much nicer.
The Ruger Blackhawks are superb handguns that''ll be around with your great grandchildren as long as you take care of them.

the new model blackhawk is reminiscent of the gun that won the west. it has classic ruger quality with today''s safety features. the transfer bar protects the firing pins so it can be carried safely with all six chambers loaded. the 45 colt version is a gun the legendary pistoleers would''ve been proud to carry.
